Livelihoods
Hunar Ki Paathshala
15 livelihood skills - 380 young adults trained - 70 businesses created since 2014
This initiative targets young adults with the aim of teaching livelihood skills and solving community problems. We periodically hold sessions at our office where participants learn income generating skills they can use without leaving their community, such as sewing, bike repairs, and running a small-store. Through this initiative, we have also 10 trained community health workers, who are gainfully employed in their communities as doctors assistants.
Yuwa Kaushal Pehel
50 youth trained since 2022
Some members of the Korku tribe seek to improve their lives and livelihoods with tangible skills trainings, and we support them in doing so by providing funds and connections to travel outside the community to learn a skill, which they then bring back to share with their community. Community members have been trained in skills such as bag making, animal husbandry and self defense.
